The New Year’s Eve 2022 has passed, and most of us, as every year, have made some New Year’s resolutions. From 1 January I will no longer eat chocolate, from 1 January I will start running every morning, from 1 January I will start learning Italian every day, from 1 January I will enroll in a gym, from 1 January I will stop being late for every meeting and so on forever.
But after a few days, it turns out that most of the decisions we made in preparation for the crucial moment in which we will change our life habits, all fall into water.
The answer is simple, and lies in the definition of the word management (according to Adizes) which reads:
Management is making and implementing decisions.
It is not enough to just make a decision.
We may have the best decision in the world, but if we do not make a plan for how we will implement it in our lives, it is completely irrelevant.
